# Twitch Chat Translation: Browser Extension or Bot?

## How do I translate my Twitch chat automatically?

Add a translation bot to your channel. It takes about two minutes, and neither you nor your viewers install anything:

1. Sign in with your Twitch account at https://www.universal-translator.io/en/for/twitch-chat-translation-extension-vs-bot and authorize Universal Translator.
2. Open Settings and add your Twitch channel.

## Browser extension or bot: which do I need?

- If you are a viewer and want to read chat in your own language, use a browser extension that translates Twitch chat on your screen. Only you see the translations, and the streamer does not have to set anything up.
- If you are the streamer and want everyone in chat to understand each other, you need a bot. It posts translations into the chat itself, so you, your mods and every viewer can read them.

## What can Universal Translator not do?
